My First Cleanse...Sort Of?

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

The Mister and I were walking through Costco, spending too much money as normal, when he spotted.....

We have both gotten into bad eating habits, drinking casually more often then normal, and not working out. (EEK!)So we decided why not! So here I am to document how it all goes! This is not an all juice fast, but includes things such as quinoa/oats/almonds/veggies to make sure you still get nutrients and aren't starving yourself to where you want to binge when you are done. Also, there's no way I could do all juice, or if I did, I would be a bitch have to take 3 days off from work!

We decided to give ourselves two days to kind of scale back on the amount of food and the type of food we were eating. This went well for the most part, already felt tired and had headache from cutting out the caffeine! Crazy how much it controls us. =/ I was definitely feeling hungry as I had switched out carby stuff for salads and vegetables.

8 a.m-Today, we officially started the cleanse! The morning started with the Prepare juice, as well as 15 almonds. It had a nice little spicy kick. I thought I would starve, but I actually didn't get any hunger feelings until about 2.5 hours later, so I waited the recommended 3 hours.
11 a.m-The midday snack was quinoa with strawberries/blueberries/raspberries at 11 am. They suggested only 1/2 cup of quinoa, I did 1 cup because I didn't want my performance at work to suffer. However, after eating this, I realized I was hungry!!! O no! :(

130 p.m-The next meal I did 2.5 hours later at 130 pm. This consists of Eliminate juice, with a serving of a salad with potato/green beans/mint/parsley/mustard. I thought the juice was delicious, it was apple/kale/parsley/cucumber, but had a nice sweet taste. The Mister was not a fan of this one! Have a small headache currently, but nothing too major. The hardest part right now is not having anything sweet! ARRRGGGHHHH Looking forward to 430 so I can have the recharge drink!!

4 pm, needed the Recharge drink! Totally satisfied my sweet tooth! Went off to hang around by the Midway with the Mister, and had some fun throwing a frisbee around and taking in the scenery :)
He was so happy hungry and irritated with me taking so many pictures....can you tell?!?!

7 p.m-Dinner consisted of Veggie burger with slice of tomato on top and avocado, and a small spinach salad! Yum!After dinner the mister was having a hard time not grabbing anything salty while watching SYTYCD!

First VoxBox!

Monday, March 4, 2013

I joined Influenster just about 2 months ago,and I already qualified for a VoxBox! Talk about exciting! :) For those of you wondering what Influenster is.... "Basically, Influenster is a place for culture junkies to come together and share their unique opinions of products and experiences."
The box I received was the Sweetheart VoxBox. This box included Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response Deodorant (Serene Citrus), Olay Fresh Effects Va-Va-Vivid Cleansing System, Not Your Mother's (She's a Tease Volumizing Hairspray), and Skinnygirl On-the-Go Bar (Blueberry Crisp). Reviews below!

Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response Deodorant (Serene Citrus)
As you know, I am part of a dance/cheer team for a semi-pro football team in San Diego. This past Saturday was my first game, and I thought what better time to test out this clinical strength deodorant?? We are cheering/dancing/performing for almost 4 hours, so this little sucker got put to the test for real! The scent is absolutely wonderful, so fresh and summery feeling. You can control how much goes on by the twist up function it has. This stuff was amazing....I sweat A LOT....and it lasted through our whole game, and I still smelled great after! Didn't even need to put more on to go out to dinner! Thanks so much, this is officially my favorite deodorant for anything that involves stress/sweat!

Olay Fresh Effects Va-Va-Vivid Cleansing System

I used this product this morning, and really awesome! No overpowering smell of a face wash, and the little battery powered brush really worked great! It fit around the nose perfectly, and the mouth, all those hard to get areas! My face definitely felt smoother after using, so I'm looking forward to seeing if the face wash helps with my shine!

Not Your Mother's (She's a Tease Volumizing Hairspray)

I was so excited for this product you have no idea! Especially being Apple scented! However....I was not a fan. I also used this product for my game day. First of all, I couldn't stand the smell, I literally started to gag when I used it. Just smells like a BUNCH of chemicals. Second of all, it made my hair so sticky and hard, it also had the stiff look to it and I HATE that! I want sexy voluminous curls! I ended up switching back to my Garnier hairspray :( Sad day.

Skinnygirl On-the-Go Bar (Blueberry Crisp)
I really love the packaging on this product and the taste! However, 180 calories seems a little up there to be considered "skinny girl" in my opinion. I currently have bars that are fewer calories with more fiber & protein/less fat & less sugar and cheaper that taste just as good. There is nothing in my opinion that makes these stand out from other bars and I don't believe they are worth the price either. Great starting out idea for Skinny Girl, but definitely needs some work!

Thanks Influenster for the products! I really enjoyed getting to be a part of this!

Getting Crafty

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

So this Christmas, I decided to get a little crafty and do some Pinteresting! I love to give/receive presents that are made with love and care :)I think it's beautiful when people make the time and effort to show how much they care about others. And of course, anything with glitter is beautiful to me :) Below are two of the presents that I made. Martha Stewart Glitter Glass paint and Black glass paint on wine glasses. Get creative with the glassware, my church has a thrift store and they had VERY unique items there! I got this idea from this blog.
And then I just added my own flair to it!

The second is sugar free peppermint syrup which you can use in coffee, protein shakes, etc. This was made for my friend as she is training for bikini competitions but loves things full of flavor!

Here is the recipe for the Sugar Free Peppermint Syrup.
It was originally a vanilla flavor syrup, but you can change it around and make it pretty much ANY flavor!

What unique items did you make or receive this year for Christmas??

This is How to Start It

Tuesday, January 8, 2013

It's already January 9th, feels like just yesterday that my boyfriend and I were ringing in the new year!

Shortly after the new year, my birthday came around, the big @$!!! Crazy how time flies. We decided to go celebrate in Indian Wells (palm Springs area)! Best Idea ever!

A few minutes after we checked in, there was a knock on the door...
And a gentleman came in bearing these gifts...
Yeah...my parents rock :)

The hotel had beautiful views!

We took the Aerial Tram up to the top of the mountain...and it started snowing! My bf and I have never seen it snow so it was absolutely amazing!

It's crazy how one can go from poolside drinks, to ten minutes later being in the snow...such an amazing and beautiful thing.

That was definitely the icing on the cake!

I try my best to take in every moment that comes my way, enjoy it, cherish it, and thank God for my many blessings!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Fresh to the Game

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Hello There! Today is my first official day blogging! I'm doing this purely to have somewhere to put photos, thoughts, ideas, etc.

I have a few different interests and I will most likely post about all of them at some point! Dancing, reading, working out, drinking, eating, making stuff! Below are just a few things for you to know more about me!

Please be respectful and understand when reading that things are just my opinion, I'm not aiming to offend anyone!

I have a wonderful, loving, sometimes hard to deal with boyfriend [what guy isn't?? ;)] who I've been with since November 18, 2011 and plan to be with for many more years. Here is a picture of us at the calendar release party for The San Diego Enforcers.

Next, here are some family pictures :)
